SALON GETS INTO LOOKING AT PROM
Even though there are many months until most high school students will get to the prom, there are many efforts to make sure that every girl who wants to go to prom is able to go and have fun. A salon in Missouri is looking to local residents to donate their old prom dresses so that girls who might not be able to afford their prom dress can go. The salon is suggesting that most of the prom dresses sitting in people’s closets will never be used again and could see a second life if they were donated to the cause.
Although some girls do tend to sell their dresses when they’re finished using them as the resale value for some dresses is quite decent, it can also be a great thing to decide to donate that dress instead so that another girl who might not otherwise be able to obtain a nice dress can show up at her prom looking great. All over the United States, people are starting to participate in what has been known as the Cinderella Project which is a nationwide effort to collect used prom dresses in order to make sure that all girls can go to prom and enjoy it each year with a great dress on.
One thing that many donation places including the Missouri salon where people are encouraged to donate their addresses is the fact that there have been many small sized dresses donated already and that the charitable effort is greatly in need of dresses that are larger in size and appropriate for girls who aren’t stick thin.
